Rebecca Pfundheller – President / CEO
Rebecca Pfundheller (Becky) is founder, owner and CEO of AFL (Analytical Food Laboratories, Inc). For more than 25 years, AFL has been keeping people safe by providing analytical data for the consumer goods industries from concept to consumption, working with national, regional, and local clients in the food, pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, beverage, water, personal care and foodservice industries.
Since starting the company with a handful of clients, part-time employees and funding from her personal account, Becky has positioned AFL as an industry leader, not only regionally, but also with national brands. Integrally involved in sales, client relationships, hands-on training and industry leadership, Becky is well known and regarded as a leading expert in the analytical testing field. She has been involved in many industry associations including serving on the Texas Food Processors Association (TFPA) Board of Directors in 2012-current, 2005-2009 and 1993-2004 and was the 2014 Hall of Fame recipient. She also is active in the women-owned business organization (WBENC) and Women Presidents’ Organization (www.womenpresidentsorg.com).
Becky’s training began at the University of Iowa where she received a BS degree in microbiology. She worked for several different labs in the Chicago area where she grew up, and after relocating to the Dallas area with her husband, she held several more positions at regional labs before starting her own lab in 1992.
For those who know her, Becky’s ability to balance building a team of experts while retaining her role as motivator and inspirational leader is what sets her apart. In a fast-paced, highly technical and high-volume transaction business—where many samples are processed—her long-term commitment and positive spirit are evident at yearly events such as the holiday gift exchange, employee recognition, company picnic, and group outings. She is truly dedicated to her team, many of whom are like a second family. Her dedication to family continues with her husband of more than 30 years, who works alongside her at AFL. In addition, they have triples, currently attending 3 different colleges. But work and personal life is never far apart for Becky—she named her children after Salmonella—Samantha, Emma and Alec!
Ray Collins / General Manager
Ray recently joined AFL as General Manager. Ray has more than 30 years of food safety and quality assurance experience and more than 11 years managing large food testing laboratories with companies such as FSNS and Eurofins Microbiology Laboratories. As General Manager, he will help develop, implement and maintain top end-to-end quality assurance processes and laboratory procedures to provide our clients with the best quality and services in the industry.
Ray will be overseeing AFL departments and staff; helping to establish and accomplish overall business objectives. Ray has a BS Degree in Business Management and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.
Anita Klu / Director of Operations
Anita has worked at AFL since 2004. She began her career as Laboratory Supervisor/Client Liaison and progressed into the role of Microbiology Manager. She is recognized as a leader in the industry for virtually building the microbiology department. Her vast knowledge allowed her to continue growing and serve as the Quality Assurance Manager, with the responsibility of ensuring all quality procedures and policies are followed, and all accreditations are maintained to uphold the highest industry standards.
Most recently, she transitioned into the Director of Operations and joined the executive team. Anita received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Jenny Trang – CPA/Controller
Jenny has worked at AFL since 2015 and has more than 11 years of experience in public accounting, audit services, real estate and financial institutions.
Jenny is managing all finance and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash disbursements and payroll. She holds a CPA license and received two bachelor’s degrees, in finance and operation management, from the University of Texas at Arlington.
