About AFL

As the leading analytical laboratory in the Southwest, AFL is a true one-stop full service lab that provides integrated solutions and a consultative approach on interpretation of results. All departments are housed in one location, and all services are performed in-house.

Hundreds of clients have utilized AFL’s services over the years

AFL maintains ISO 17025 accreditation, provides research-based testing, and continuously introduces new technologies.  Additionally, AFL is dedicated to sharing its knowledge at its own Educational Solutions seminar series, internal brown bag lunches, industry conferences, special events and speaking engagements.

Perseverance is AFL’s standard. Put us to the test!

A devastating fire destroyed the original laboratory in 2015.  After downsizing from 70 employees to a core group of 20, moving to a temporary location and focusing on rebuilding, AFL is back in their original location with a brand new, state of the art, customized 22,000 sq.ft. laboratory and a full staff.

AFL was certainly “put to the test” February 2015 when a devastating fire destroyed our facility. While the fire destroyed the facility, it did not destroy the attitude and commitment to being the best independent, 3rd party laboratory in the industry.

Illustrated by the fact that just 4 short months post-fire, AFL opened its doors to a 14,000 square-foot transitional facility in July 2015.

Our Product Quality and Nutrition departments never missed a step, operating fully the day after the fire. Our Micro department was up and running along with USP.

Chemistry had the capability to provide our most common tests such as environmental allergens, moisture, fats and aflatoxins. In many cases new, state-of-the-industry instrumentation allowed for better, streamlined testing.

The early months of 2017 were busy with the planning of the Open House and new facility celebrations, lab tours, presentations with clients, friends and supporters all present.

AFL held Open House events in June of 2017 to present new capabilities, new equipment and our expanded facilities. In addition, AFL celebrated 25 years in business!
